A Motivational Interviewing / Gambling-SBIRT (Screening Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment)Training will be offered later this fall!
This training will be led by Mallori DeSalle and is being hosted by the Indiana Problem Gambling Awareness Program. It will be an opportunity to learn and practice skills to refer somebody to treatment who may have a gambling disorder or are at risk for developing a problem with gambling.
Problem gambling does not discriminate and can impact anyone who gambles regardless of economic, social, cultural or levels of education. Anyone who gambles can develop a gambling problem. Learn more about problem gambling here.

The Impact of Social Connectedness on Our Health and Well-Being

Effective Group Facilitation Skills for Prevention Professionals
August 29, 2024 | 12:30pm - 3:30pm US/Central
During this 3-hour, interactive training, participants will learn effective group facilitation skills to use during their substance misuse prevention work. Participants will learn how to identify the stages of group development, along with practical communication skills. Time will be spent learning a preventionist’s role in group decision-making, as well as learning to apply interventions during activities in prevention settings. Participants must be on camera with a working microphone in order to receive a certificate of participation for this training. This training will not be available as a recording.
