Citizen Opioid Responders (COR) is an online naloxone training program that seeks to reduce deaths from opioid overdoses by recruiting, training, and linking citizen responders to these events so they can administer lifesaving naloxone/Narcan. Sign up and complete this free training to receive a certificate of completion.
Implementation of this program is made possible by the Women’s Philanthropy Leadership Council and individual donors as part of the Indiana University Foundation 2024 Affinity Giving Grant. The COR program will be implemented in three counties (Clark, Floyd, Monroe) and across five IU Campuses (Bloomington, Columbus, Ft. Wayne, Indy, Southeast). Through this funding IU will utilize targeted marketing strategies to reach both IU students and citizens of the three counties. The project purpose is to increase the number of people trained and carrying naloxone in our communities which can ultimately lead to reversal of overdoses and save lives.
The COR program aims to disseminate online training to empower community members to carry naloxone/Narcan and to be prepared to respond to overdoses in their community.
