Strategic Prevention Framework Indiana
Community Prevention Framework
Indiana's prevention work uses the latest public health research and data to make informed decisions utilizing the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) process. Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA) is working toward expanding the use of SPF to communities and coalitions across the State, funded through Substance Abuse Block Grant funds and supported by the Prevention Insights's staff. In order to achieve this, DMHA contracts with prevention specialists at the Prevention Insights to lead communities through the SPF process, providing support to community coalitions to achieve their goals. The efforts by the Prevention Insights staff to support communities in Indiana is known as the Community Prevention Framework (CPF). The CPF guides communities in strengthening their infrastructure, reducing substance abuse, and provides technical assistance and evaluation support.
